Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Spacie is a native macOS application designed to help you understand and manage your disk usage. Spacie does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. This policy explains in plain terms what the app does and does not do with information on your device.

No Data Collection

Spacie does not collect or transmit any information about you or your device. Specifically:

File System Access

Spacie requests permission to read your file system in order to display file sizes and folder contents. This access is strictly local. The app reads file metadata (names, sizes, and modification dates) to display them in the interface. It does not read file contents, and no file information ever leaves your device.

You control which folders and volumes Spacie can access. You can revoke these permissions at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders.

No Internet Connection Required

Spacie operates entirely offline. The app does not make any network requests. There are no servers, no cloud sync, and no background processes that communicate outside your Mac.

macOS Sandbox

Spacie is distributed through the Mac App Store and runs in Apple's macOS sandbox. This means its access to your system is strictly limited and governed by Apple's guidelines, providing an additional layer of protection beyond this policy.

Children's Privacy

Spacie does not collect any information from anyone, including children. The app has no accounts, no forms, and no network activity.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is ever updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Since no data is collected, changes are unlikely to affect you in any meaningful way.
